Thump, Thump, Drag…

It was Friday night and Ashley, a 16 year old girl, was babysitting 2 little boys. The boy’s parents weren’t supposed to come home until very late, so she put them to bed and sat downstairs in the living room to watch some TV. She was flipping channels and came to the evening news. [...]

  • If you've seen some sketchy looking amber alert messages flying around Twitter or Facebook lately, do some research and check them out before you cry wolf. Check http://www.missingkids.com  and see the current kids who could REALLY use our help. This one is fake by the way...  http://urbanlegends.about.com/b/2009/10/05/hoax-amber-alert-license-plate-98b351.htm Posted via email from Urban Legends Online #
  • Ooooh, something funky is going on with my thumbnails... The don't seem to be showing up correctly on the home page. Why why why? Upon further research, this seems to be a common problem with magazine themes. Dang. #

  • Not sure what the problem is but this isn't the first time I've had trouble with a feed from a wordpress site on this server. What's up with that? I need to call my host... #
  • I'm still looking for great header and background images for the site, but I like this new theme for now. I've changed the site over to the WP platform so I can categorize the legends better (for ones that fall under multiple categories) and to make future updates easier on myself. Now that I've been introduced to the quirks of getting a magazine style WP theme to function properly, less work probably isn't going to happen anytime soon. haha! It'll be worth it though when I finally get it right. Don't know if this is the theme I'll stick with, but I'm learning a lot along the way... #

Welcome to UrbanLegendsOnline.com

Urban Legends, Myths, Hoaxes and Scary Stories Welcome to a comprehensive site for creepy and interesting myths, legends and hoaxes. You’ll learn about some of the most popular (and my favorite) urban legends and you’ll kill some time while you should be working. Welcome slackers one and all!

What is an urban legend? According to Webster, it’s “an often lurid story or anecdote that is based on hearsay and widely circulated as true,” and is sometimes called an urban myth.

Have we left off your favorite legend? Do you know of a legend or superstition that we don’t? Don’t be shy… send it to us! If we like it, we’ll post it! Now go… surf… have fun!
