Bathroom Ghosts

Bathroom Ghosts

Hanako, the ghost in the toilet, almost achieved the status of a national phenomena in Japanese legend 20 years ago, when a wave of stories of ghost-sightings swept through the nation’s school yards. Every child had a “Hanako” story to tell. The stories, of course, are many and varied but every schoolchild in Japan, at one time or another, has stood in dread and anticipation as he or she ventured into the school toilet alone. This … Read entire article »

The Cranbury Inn

The Cranbury Inn

I lived in NJ most of my life, even though I was born in NY. When I went to Walter C. Black Middle School, I had a teacher who worked at the Cranbury Inn. She told us all that it was haunted by the ghost of a man who was killed there in the 1790′s. The man was run over by a stagecoach after having a few too many drinks. Apparently, ever since then he has … Read entire article »

A Fire Every 20 Years

A Fire Every 20 Years

I moved to Oretta and started going to Singer High School. I’m happy to say I made some friends on the first day. We were sitting in the gym one day and I looked up at the ceiling and noticed that there were black marks on it. I asked my friend if she knew why it was like that and she told me that the school had burned down several times. She said that it … Read entire article »

Wired For Sound

One dark and stormy night a woman was listening to her extensive Cliff Richard CD collection when she heard a strange sound. It sent a chill down her spine as she heard a low humming and buzzing noise emanating from under her bed. She bent down nervously and noticed, to her utter horror, that her Walkman had mysteriously turned itself on and was playing an ominous tune………..backwards. She quickly snatched the tape player from under her bed and as she did so, she very faintly heard the following words: "Hhhhheeeeeelp meeeeeeee!" In terror she ripped the batteries out of the machine, but it carried on with its haunting plea. Petrified, she ran to her neighbor’s house and was relieved to find her awake. The neighbor managed to calm her … Read entire article »

3 Men and a Ghost

via rottentomatoes.com There is a scene in the movie Three Men and a Baby where you can see the ghostly figure of a small boy who was killed in the house where the scene was filmed. There are also tales of other ghostly objects being seen throughout the movie, most notably a rifle pointing at the head of the “ghost boy”. That is the legend. Here are the facts. The scene in question was not shot in a house, but on a soundstage in a Hollywood studio. The “ghost boy” is in fact a life-sized cardboard cutout of Ted Danson (who stars in the film), which had been left in the background, presumably accidentally, by a crew member. This cutout is seen in full view in another scene in … Read entire article »

The Ghostly Violin

In Houston, Texas there was a security guard, janitor, or some other poor guy who worked the night shift in the public library. He was apparently well-liked by everyone who used the facility and was made unusual by the fact that he played the violin, loved to do so with an unending passion and often engaged in his musical pursuit during his down time, much to the delight of all who heard him. When the good fellow eventually died, apparently of natural causes, it was (and may still be) reported that his violin could still be heard around the library during the quiet of the evening.
