An old lady was asked to look after her neighbors Terrier dog, and being the kind-hearted lady she was, she agreed. When taking the dog for a long walk, it started to rain, hurrying back, the old woman returned home, both her and the Terrier were soaked.

The poor little animal was shivering, and wanting to dry the dog, she decided to put the animal in the microwave for a short time. When the dog was put inside, the lady’s phone rang, and upon answering, she was hooked into a conversation with her friend who had been in hospital. When she ended the call, the microwave was still on. As she opened the microwave door, all that was left of the dog was a gory mess.

A man who was always fond of horse racing owned a few horses himself. One of his horses was quite old, but the man decided to race it one last time. The man tried to lead the horse into the mini trailer attached to his truck but the horse wouldn’t go in. Finally, after he forced the horse in, he began to drive to the track, a few miles from where he boarded the horse.

The horse was constantly making noise and wouldn’t be quiet. The man thought it was just he horse being stubborn. The man then noticed that people were honking their car horns at him as they drove by but he ignored the other motorists and kept driving. He knew the horse was upset and wanted to get him out of the trailer as soon as possible.

When he reached the place the racetrack and opened the trailer, he was shocked by what he found. His old horse was dead and the trailer was soaked with blood. The horse’s legs had fallen through the rotted floor and were ground to stubs.

A boy was playing with his hamster in the basement of his house just before the carpet man came to put new carpet down. When he arrived the boy’s mom told him to go upstairs and let the carpet man work in peace. It was a large basement and after a while the carpet man was exhausted and decided to go out for a smoke.

He saw a lump under the carpet he just laid down and realized that his cigarette pack was missing. Instead of pulling up the carpet and laying it down again he just hammered the little lump down.

On his way home after a long day, he found his cigarettes in his truck. He was wondering what the little lump in the floor was so he called the lady of the house the next day and ask her if she was missing any small items. She was surprised to hear from him and told him that they hadn’t been able to find her son’s hamster since the day before.

One day a man was taking a ride on a train. That day, a woman walked in and sat down across from him wearing what looked like an old fashioned white lace wedding gown and holding a white bundle in her arms.

The man said hello, but she just cradled the bundle in her hands and stared out the window.
After about an hour, the woman looked at the man and smiled. She started to talk but no words came from her mouth. Then she laughed soundlessly.

The confused man shook his head and tried to ask her what she was saying, but she only looked toward the window and laughed some more. All of a sudden she gripped the bundle in her hands tightly and silently screamed in horror before fainting in her seat, the bundle still clutched in her arms.

The man ran to get help, but when he got back with a staff member from the train the woman was gone. He described the woman to the staff member who raised his eyebrows and chuckled at the disturbed passenger. He explained that he must have seen the ghost of the train.

The staff member told the man that a newlywed couple was on their way to their honeymoon when the new husband stuck his head out of the window to declare his love for his new bride for all the world to hear. Tragically, a loose wire of a passing train sliced through his neck, nearly decapitating him and killing him instantly. When the staff heard the screams they came to find that the woman was cradling her husband’s head in her hands and the body was lying on the floor. The staff member said that the woman was sitting in her husband’s pool of blood.

They say that the woman went mad and spent the rest of her life in an asylum until she cut her own head off.

Back in the 1900′s, there was a regular old train track on top of a regular old cave in the regular old town of Canton, PA. The train was pretty inactive and only came through the town on occasion. A little girl decided she wanted to be a "big girl" and go ride her bike on her own. She thought that the tracks looked like a pretty flat, easy place to ride. She started at the beginning of the tracks, and began to enjoy herself. Faster and faster she went! Zooming over bumps and rocks! Oh, she was having a grand time. She heard a whistle and turned her head. While she was distracted, she abruptly hit a rock and fell off of her bike. She skinned her knees and, as any 7 year old would do, she started to cry. She heard the whistle again! The train was coming! She sat up but was restrained. She looked down and saw her little pink and white dress caught in the tracks. She tried to pull it out, but it was stuck fast. The little girl looked over and saw the train, not 300 yards away. She pulled and tugged, but the dress would not budge. Looking around for something that might help her get free, she saw a broken bottle laying on the ground. She grabbed it and began to saw at her dress. She glanced up and at that moment the last of the fabric gave away. Her body hit the water running through the cave below, with a splash. She was barely alive and she dragged herself as far as she could to try to save herself. Moaning, she crawled into a nearby crevice, and died.

It’s said that you can still hear her moans echoing through the cave and, if you enter at precisely midnight, she will follow you throughout the cave, asking for you to stay with her.

I’m not one to get scared easily, but I’ve been to Seven Steps. I went at midnight and was promptly scared out of it. If you strain your ears, you actually can hear a low humming, very much like a small child’s moan. It’s so unbelievably creepy, that I didn’t even make it to the end. I hope you enjoyed Canton’s ghost story.

A new consignment boutique opened in town and a woman went shopping there and bought a dress. She wore it that night to a party. Sometime during the party the woman began to feel sick. She had had a few cocktails, so she thought it was just a reaction to the alcohol. She said her goodbyes and headed home. That night, alone in her apartment she felt worse and worse and by morning she had died in her bathroom, still wearing her party dress.

In the morgue, during the autopsy, the medical examiner recognized the dress from another body that had been brought in weeks before. He had embalmed that body while she was wearing the dress. Later, he removed the dress from the body and sold it to a man he knew who owned a consignment shop.

The medical examiner realized that the embalming fluid had soaked into the dress. When the woman bought the dress and wore it to the party, she exposed herself to the embalming fluid which then absorbed into her and had been the cause of her death.

Most researchers agree that the most accurate version of the story concerns a young girl who was killed while hitchhiking down Archer Avenue in the early 1930’s. Apparently, she had spent the evening dancing with a boyfriend at the O Henry Ballroom. At some point, they got into an argument and Mary (as she has come to be called) stormed out of the place. Even though it was a cold winter’s night, she thought, she would rather face a cold walk home than another minute with her boorish lover.

She left the ballroom and started walking up Archer Avenue. She had not gotten very far when she was struck and killed by a passing automobile. The driver fled the scene and Mary was left there to die.

Her grieving parents buried her in Resurrection Cemetery, wearing a white dress and her dancing shoes. Since that time, her spirit has been seen along Archer Avenue, perhaps trying to return to her grave after one last night among the living.

A sister and her brother were inside a new Wal-Mart. The sister at eight years of age and the brother seventeen years of age. The brother was wanting to buy a present for his little sister because her birthday was coming up. As they were about to leave, she had to go to the bathroom. Her brother showed her where the restrooms were and he began looking at earrings he thought she might like for her birthday.

As he started to buy the earrings, he saw people running from the end of the store screaming and yelling with fear. In the next moment he smelled smoke and saw flames. He ran to his little sister as fast as he could but when he got to the bathrooms the fire was already blazing. He knew he had to leave to make sure help was coming. When the fire trucks arrived it was already too late. They assured the family that there were no survivors.

Two days later the family got a call from the hospital. They told them that they had someone there by the name of Sandy. They asked, ‘How did you get this number?’ The hospital replied that the little girl had a purse clutched in her little hand with a card that gave her name and number on it. The family drove to the hospital to see their little angel. While they thanked God for her survival, they noticed her arms were burnt so severely they were both amputated and her face was burned and she needed surgery. The family didn’t have any health insurance and very little money to cover the bill. This family needs our HELP!

NOTE: Every time someone forwards this story, YAHOO will donate $2.00 towards the hospital bill. DO NOT DELETE! YAHOO IS TRACKING THIS! Please forward this as ‘Sad Wal-Mart Story’. God knows who you are.

UrbanLegendsOnline.com Reaction

Bah, we say it isn’t true. Not even a little bit. This is probably the worst written fake urban legend email story I have ever heard/received. Yahoo doesn’t track any of these emails people! And the bit about a little id card tucked away in a purse clutched in her BADLY BURNED HANDS that needed to be amputated? Oh, but the purse and the id card – totally fine. oh brother.

Someone actually sent this asking if it was true. ***shaking head*** um – I’m gonna say, not on your life.

A group of young girls were having a slumber party one night and began to exchange ghost stories. One girl claimed that she heard that an old man who had died earlier that week had been buried alive in the graveyard down the street. She claimed that if you tried, you could hear him still scratching at the lid of his coffin. The other girls called her bluff and told her that she wouldn’t do it. They said she was too afraid to go down there to the grave that very night. They continued to challenge her and eventually she gave into the peer pressure and accepted the dare. Since she was going to go alone, she needed to prove to the others that she actually followed through with the task. She was supposed to take a stake with her and drive it into the ground so the next day the girls would know that she had been to the grave.

She headed off to the gravesite, stake in hand, and never returned. The other girls assumed she had "chickened out" and had just gone home ashamed.

The next morning as they passed the graveyard they saw her there at the old man’s grave. She had accidentally staked her nightshirt to the ground and when she tried to run from the grave and couldn’t, she died of fright.
