Black Aggie

There is a legend about Druid Ridge Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. It is locally well-known for it being the former home of a statue known as Black Aggie. In the early part of the century, there was a woman named Aggie, who was a nurse working at a hospital. She was congenial and well-liked, but it seemed that patients under her care always seemed to die. Suspicion grew, and she was put to death, which turned out to be a mistake when she was discovered to be innocent the very next day. A communal feeling of guilt spread, so a statue was put in Druid Ridge Cemetery in her honor. When the statue was unveiled, strange occurrences started happening. I’ve heard that if you stand before it at the … Read entire article »

Vegas Baby

There are loads of ghost stories going around Las Vegas about haunted casinos and parks. I’m not a big believer in ghosts, but I don’t deny their existence. At Foxridge Park on Valle Verde in Las Vegas, there is a ghost of a little boy who loves the swings. I’ve been there and I think it is true. After the sun went down, my husband and I and our two kids were the only ones there. My three year old daughter ran to the swings and we made her come back. She had hit the swing and made it sway side to side. After a few swings, it changed direction and swung front to back. The chain remained taught, as if someone was sitting in it. There was no … Read entire article »

Thump, Thump, Drag…

It was Friday night and Ashley, a 16 year old girl, was babysitting 2 little boys. The boy’s parents weren’t supposed to come home until very late, so she put them to bed and sat downstairs in the living room to watch some TV. She was flipping channels and came to the evening news. The Anchor-woman reported a warning for her area. She said that a mental patient had escaped from a nearby facility and was on the run from the local authorities. Ashley flipped the channel again to find an old movie she hadn’t seen in a while, but had always enjoyed. By the end of the film, she had forgotten about the news report. Disguised Child

A small child was abducted at Walt Disney World. The distraught parents are taken to a surveillance room filled with monitors to look for the child. Almost at the point of giving up, the mother recognizes the child’s shoes when a strange woman attempts to leave the park. The reason the shoes were all that were recognized is the child’s hair had been cut and dyed, and she’d been dressed as a little boy. Variations of this legend often take place at a supermarket or some other theme park. Posted via email from Urban Legends Online … Read entire article »
