Actually there are dozens or perhaps hundreds of Melissas with the same pictures and the same name. No comments, no picture comments, no blogs and her groups are hidden. Each one is located in a different part of the country and has a slightly different age and sign.
So... so what?
So almost ALL of them are online at the same time. One computer can run as many different MySpace profiles as it has unique browsers. So perhaps five each if you really pushed it. That means that even the short list of Melissas that have been found so far requires many computers. Alternatively you could run it on fewer computer by creating an IP for each seperate browser window. Either way, someone is dedicating a lot of time, energy and hardware to Melissa.
Why?
The only part of her profile that is developed is her groups. Click on "see all of XXXX's groups" for one of your friends and then paste Melissa's name and user ID over your friends info in the address bar. 67-69 PAGES of groups. A different set of groups for each profile... why would anyone want to be a member of so many groups... My guess would be that someone is filtering the content of all the Melissa's groups looking for keywords. What else could you do with the enormous quantity of data that you would get from checking hundreds of groups?
Welcome to the Department of Homeland Security MySpace Division. Either that or the NSA, but why bother distinguishing between federal agencies anymore.
Check your groups... I found her in two of mine. Look through the profiles named Melissa in your area. They were created in the early hours of March 14th, so if there is more than one within 100 miles of your postal code they will all show up in a line near the end of the list. Four in the Washington D.C. area.
