What is an urban legend? According to Webster,
an urban legend is "an often lurid story or anecdote that is based on hearsay and widely circulated as true," and is sometimes called an urban myth.
As our popularity has grown, we've reorganized the site (again!) so the legends are easier to find and easier for us to update. There's a lot more material now so if you are curious about that last chain email you got, check with us, we'll tell you it's crap.
